Who am I?

Merhaba!

Welcome All!

Thank you for visiting my first blog! I am Sana, an American-Pakistani living in New Jersey. I am recently finishing up my last semester at Montclair State with a double major in Chemistry and Arabic!  Yes! I know their two completely different bachelors! However I am leaning on teaching both!

I started caramelchemist.com in 2017. This year is a constant juggle of being a daughter, student, sister, and wifey and with all this I want to share my knowledge, and experiences of a hijabi in an American society with you! However before I go into further details I must apologize in advance for my grammer/spelling skills. I dont pay attention to that much as long the point and idea is getting across!

A hijab to me is more than just a fashion statement. Its about my inspiration to bring out and strengthen modesty within me. Yes fashion plays a tremendous role in todays society but I feel that personality goes hand and hand. Its been a year as an hijabi and I have to say that it isn't as difficult at all. I can be fully covered, and still show my personality through my sense of style with modesty and confidence.

Along with the whole process of finishing my last semester and discovering myself as a hijabi while married to my best friend. I felt that this was the best time to start! I have more to share now then ever.
My goal is to hopefully share to motivate you!
Love,
Sana Ishaq
